Class of 2019

My name is Constantina “Nina” Palamaris and this is my third year in the international business internship program. I have been the leadership chair and I have alternated between the media and fundraising chairs, too. In addition to IBIP, I am the president of my youth group, and host an annual holiday card drive for the children at Brenner Children’s Hospital. I am in my senior year at The Early College at Guilford and have been taking college courses full-time for the past two years. In the fall I am going to be attending American University. Apart from school activities, I enjoy cooking, sculpture, and working with animals.

Class of 2020

My name is Emmalyn Sarver and I am a junior at The Early College at Guilford. This is my first year working with Leadership Initiatives. In my free time, I enjoy swimming, attending school-related events, hanging out with close friends, and spending time with my family.

Outside of the IBIP program, I participate in a variety of activities, committees, and clubs. This year I am a student representative of my class for Student Council and I am the head of Prom Committee at my school, two roles that I have grown to love. I am also vice president of the Campus Life club, which is one of my favorite clubs at my school. Other than these, I compete at National History Day each year, create presentations about various countries for International Club throughout the year, volunteer at my school through National Honors Society, assist staff at a nearby high school, and tutor math to a couple of students.

No matter what it is, I find joy in serving others, whether in my own neighborhood or halfway across the world, that is why I am excited to continue working through the IBIP program and assisting people in their businesses.

The first year I was the 9th grade representative, last year I was the secretary, and this year I am serving the role of parliamentarian. I am also the secretary/treasurer for the National Honors Society. I am also involved in a program titled NCCJ, which works toward educating others on social justice issues. Additionally, I am the secretary of a organization titled Let’s Learn Triad, which works with students who come from immigrant families and push them towards pursuing higher education.
