Our Life-Changing Project
Class of 2019
My name is Chloe Alviz, and I am a rising senior. I love to challenge myself by taking as many honors and AP classes that I can fit into my schedule. Some of my favorite classes right now are AP Physics and AP English Literature!
I am currently a member of the Academy of Medical Sciences at school, as I plan on pursuing a career in the public health field. My decision was inspired by my experiences last year, when my US History and Public Health class developed a new and thorough emergency plan for our school. I am proud to say that I was one of the co-authors and editors of the plan!
At school, I am a member of Academic Decathlon and Filipinx Club. I also find pride in being an active member of my Catholic parish! I currently play flute with the youth choir during weekly masses, and serve as a youth ministry leader at Confirmation classes and community events.
In my freetime, I enjoy binge watching movies, reading, and writing short stories. I try to write as much as I can and it has always been a dream of mine to publish a full-length novel!
I am thrilled to be part of the IBIP program, as I couldn’t say “no” to such an amazing opportunity! I am currently going into my third year and I’ve had an absolutely wonderful time. This experience not only helped me gain knowledge about the world of professionalism, but also allowed me to positively change the lives of others around the world!
Class of 2019
Hello! My name is Andrea Batoon. I am currently a senior at my high school, where I’m part of the Medical Health Science Academy.
Throughout my high school career, I’ve tried to find a good balance between classes that challenge me and classes I enjoy. Some of the classes I’ve thoroughly enjoyed throughout the years have been Visual Art, Calculus and Physiology.
At school, I am also an enthusiastic member of Academic Decathlon and a Filipinx Club board member. I’ve also been lucky enough to have been able to intern with my local makerspace! I definitely learned a thing or two while I was there. Right after the school day, you can often find me practicing violin, which I’ve been playing for almost a decade now!
In my spare time, I like to read, tear through the seasons of my current tv show, and art. I also really enjoy spending time with my baby brother, who, luckily enough, likes to read and make art as well.
Going into this new year of IBIP, I am so lucky and thankful to have been given the opportunity to be part of this team.
Class of 2021
Hello, my name is Angela Batoon and I am currently a sophomore in Rancho Campana High School! Besides being a student, I am also a pianist, self-taught artist, and the middle child of my family.
At school, I was formerly part of the Academy of Medical Science but switched into the Academy of Engineering after I learned my love for design and coding! I am an intern at RCMakes, a community makerspace and industrial job shop operated by students. I am currently the social chair of Filipinx club where I enjoy exploring my background and culture. The club that I am most involved in though is KIWIN’S, a youth community service organization that is part of Key Club International. As RCHS KIWIN’S publicist, I make graphics, oversee the social media, and develop the club website. I am also part of the KIWIN’S district Tech Committee where I make graphics for our district, which spans across California!
Over the weekend, I enjoy attending service events with other KIWIN’S members, practicing piano, or making graphics. When I find the time, I love to paint with watercolors in my sketchbook, explore fictional worlds in books, and binge watch YouTube videos. Although I am 13 years my brother’s senior, we are basically best friends. I love designing lego creations with him or playing piano as he presses random keys and sings next to me.
When I do something, I always try to put my all in. I am extremely honored to have this opportunity to be part of the International Business Internship Program. Through IBIP, I hope to look for ways to improve myself and others!
Class of 2019
Hello! My name is Nicole Kim and I am excited to be a Senior at Rio Mesa HS. I am a full time student, sister, daughter, and friend who tries to be there for anyone in need.
Academically, I always make an effort to challenge myself with every rigorous course offered, such as AP, IB, and Honors.
Besides studying and completing homework, I am also involved with many extracurricular activities. I am captain of the girls’ varsity golf team. I am very active in community services through clubs, but also volunteer outside of them as well. I’m a current participant of clubs such as Girls Who Code (VP & Founder), Knowledge Bowl (VP), Science Olympiad (VP), California Scholarship Federation (Historian), school online newspaper, Music Appreciation Club (Secretary), Robotics (Lead Programmer & President), Link Crew (Leader and Commissioner), New Student Ambassador, and IBAP club (President & Founder).
Besides academics, I also enjoy many hobbies. But my favorite one is to listen to and play music of all sorts. I love everything that has to do with music. Not only because it’s relaxing and challenging, but it also gives me ways to express myself and share with others.
My main goal in life is to help others with anything and everything. Seeing smiles on other people’s faces bring me more joy and satisfaction than doing things to directly please myself. I feel it’s always important to remember that what may seem like a small problem to one person, might be a major issue for another. That’s why I believe, when helping others, anything is achievable with effort put in place, making no task too big or too small. I am ecstatic to achieve my life goals with Leadership Initiatives and the International Business Internship Program.

This school year I will be participating in my school’s Link Crew program, Science Olympiad, and Knowledge Bowl.
When I am not doing schoolwork, I love spending quality time with my family. I am the eldest of three sisters, and find myself constantly trying my best to lead a good example for them to follow by mentoring and giving them advice, teaching them to learn from their mistakes and work hard. My sisters and I often try new activites together, including learning different painting techniques and attempting to memorize a variety of random dances from our favorite films.
I am extremely grateful for this opportunity and am excited to be involved in a project that improves lives of people on the other side of the world.
Class of 2021
Hello, my name is Isabelle Oroc and I am a currently attending Adolfo Camarillo high school as a sophomore! Over the course of my life, I have learned many lessons whether it was in school or guidance regarding life. In fourth grade, I established a mission for myself which is to help others. I am a proud advocate of collaborating with others to help impact and make a change either in the world or in someone’s life!
As well as being a student who prioritizes AP and honors classes, one of my passions is music. I play over 4 plus instruments (violin, flute, ukulele, piano, and etc.) and my love for music has influenced my life in so many ways. I am a member of Adolfo Camarillo high school’s marching band as well as being a part of the Wind Ensemble Honors and Orchestra class. Not only do I use my musical talent for school activities, I am Co-President of Crescendo which is an active club that provides music therapy to patients in our local hospital as well as other places in our community. Because I love collaborating with others to help make an impact, you can probably guess that I love volunteering. Clubs that promote volunteering and helping others that I partake in is KIWIN’S (Historian), Crescendo (Co-President) , Liberty in North Korea (Co Vice-President), IBIP (Special Projects Chair), National Honor Society, California Scholarship Federation, and a club named Support the Troops (Treasurer)!
My parents and my two older sisters influenced my life and made me the person I am today. Family is a huge factor in my life as they helped structure my perspective on life as they supported me and instilled values in my mindset. Growing up, I would watch my sisters volunteer or listen to them practicing their instruments which paved the way to my present.
In the present, I am now a delighted member of the International Business Internship Program! Through IBIP, I am able to further my mission of collaborating with others to help impact and make a change in the world and in someone’s life across the world in Nigeria. I am glad to have united with others in my IBIP team to help the world our mission!
