Class of 2019

My name is Kylee Updike, and I’m a Senior at Whitehouse High School where I and several friends began our internships with Leadership Initiatives. I am currently president of two clubs on my high school campus and am actively involved in several others. I enjoy painting and cooking and I love to volunteer anywhere I can, whether it be at my church, my school, or in my community. My passion in life is to simply help people, and growing up, my parents were instrumental in the development of this passion. I plan to double major in Nutritional Sciences and Finance at the University of Alabama before obtaining my Master’s degree in Finance or going to medical school. I’m super excited to be an Intern for Leadership Initiatives because I think it will really help prepare me for anything I wish to do in my life and offers a unique opportunity to impact someone that lives on the other side of the world.

Class of 2019

My name is Colton Haile, and I am a senior at Whitehouse High School. I want to study nursing in college and eventually work as a certified registered nurse anesthetist. I have always had an interest in medicine and in helping others, so studying nursing seems like it will suit me. I am heavily involved with the high school band, and I was selected to be a squad leader. As a squad leader, it is my responsibility to teach and be a role model to the 40 people in my section as well as the rest of the band. From the age of 16 I have been an active member of the work force, which has helped me understand the value of time and money not only for myself but for others. I hope that my experiences, though limited, can help anyone who may need it.

Class of 2019

I am currently a senior at Whitehouse High School. I have been attending this school system since I was 6 years old, I’ve been preparing myself for my future by getting into East Central University planning to major in Pre-med and go into medical school to become a surgeon. I have found that my ability to work with others has been shaped by my interactive experiences with my community. For instance, I have been on many mission trips including foreign mission trips to the Philippines, along with several domestic mission trips in my own state. At 18 years old, I’ve made a huge impact on my community and other places around the world, and I plan to continually do so. The IBAP program is just another way for me to help others become great.
